What We Do

The Southeast Weld Fire Protection District (SEWFPD) is a political subdivision of the State of Colorado, formed in 1954 primarily for the prevention of fires and protection of life and property from fires that may occur within the boundaries of the District.

SEWFPD is staffed with a combination of career and volunteer/reserve firefighters providing services to the approximately 7,500 residents of the District, as well as visitors to and through the District.

Our services include:

  • emergency medical
  • rescue
  • related emergency services

Full-time staff and many of the District’s volunteer/reserve firefighters have further advanced their skills acquiring certification levels that include Hazardous Materials Technician, Fire Instructor-II and III, Fire Officer-I and Fire Officer-II in addition to other specialized certifications.

The District encompasses:

  • 405 square miles in Weld County
  • 87 square miles in Adams County
  • Town of Keenesburg
  • unincorporated areas of Prospect Valley and Roggen
  • significant portions of I-76, State Highway 52, and State Highway 79
