Southeast Weld Fire Protection District
District Profile
The Southeast Weld Fire Protection District (SEWFPD) is a political subdivision of the State of Colorado, formed in 1954 primarily for the prevention of fires and protection of life and property from fires that may occur within the boundaries of the District. The District encompasses 402 square miles in Weld County and 87 square miles in Adams County, including the Town of Keenesburg, and the unincorporated places of Roggen and Prospect Valley. In addition, SEWFPD encompasses significant portions of I-76, State Highway 52, and State Highway 79.
The SEWFPD is staffed with a combination of career and volunteer firefighters providing fire prevention, suppression, property preservation, emergency medical, rescue and related emergency services to the approximately 5,000 residents of the District, as well as visitors to and through the District.
Presently the District's personnel are comprised of a combination of twenty-five full-time, volunteer, and reserve firefighters. Full-time staff provide 24/7 coverage and reside at Station 1 in Keenesburg. Each are required to achieve and maintain minimum certifications levels that include Firefigther-I, Hazardous Materials Operations Level, and First Responder (Medical). Full-time staff and many of the District's personnel have further advanced their skill base acquiring certification levels that include Firefighter-II, Emergency Medical Technician & IV Therapy, Wildland Firefighter Type 2 (Red Card), and other specialized certifications.
SE Weld Fire has two additional fully equipped stations strategically located in Roggen and Prospect Valley to serve the members of our community.

Residents of SE Weld FPD can stop by Station 1 in Keenesburg for free blood pressure checks. Stop by Monday through Friday between 7:00am-5:00pm. You can call ahead at 303-732-4203 to schedule checks too. - Burn Permits Required for Residents
Burn permits must be obtained for residents within SE Weld Fire's district boundaries. Permits and burning guidelines are available at Station 1 in Keenesburg Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Permits are free of charge. Call 303-732-4203 for additional information.
